Ohio Attorney General is going to solve the drug problem in The State Of Ohio?

Personally I like The Ohio Attorney General & like that fact that he is recognizing a serious family & social problem affecting thousands of families in The State Of Ohio.

In truth there is not much he or any other politician can do about the so called drug problem which is really an addiction problem in so much as only people who suffer from addiction tend to abuse drugs of any type or kind.

People in recovery for drug addiction know this ( it takes one to know one ).

They will tell you the only thing that helped them was unbelievable emotional pain & suffering that caused them to hit a bottom & decide to reach out for help.

The parents, spouses & family members of drug addicts know all to well that they are powerless over their loved one's addiction to drugs or narcotics.

They know they did not cause it, they can not control it & they can not save, rescue or fix their loved ones who suffers from any type of addiction ( Lord only knows how hard they tried to no avail ).

The State Of Ohio can make professional help available to drug addicts but only the drug addicts themselves must want the help & they must want to stop using & want to stay clean & sober themselves.

You can lead a horse to water but you can not make him drink. Not even The Attorney General.

Drug dealers in The Dayton, Ohio area are very busy supplying drugs to drug addicts who can not go without their fix. Supply & demand prevails. The Attorney General can not change that. The big boys behind the drug dealers have millions of dollars in cash to get things the way they want it. They do not worry about being arrested as they do not reside in America.

The only thing he could do is get the sale of drugs & narcotics to addicts made legal so they can purchase these things from safe sources such as drug stores who are licensed to sell drugs. The sales could be taxed & the money used to help the drug addicts who want help. The religious people would not like that but in truth nothing else will ever change the drug problem in The State Of Ohio. The drug dealers must be put out of business & legalization is the only way that will ever happen as there is not enough space in prisons to take all of them off the streets & lock them up. The State Of Ohio has also lost a lot of income over the past several years so money is tight with talk about early prisoner release & all that to cut back. Most drug dealers are addicts themselves & sell drugs to support their own habits which further complicates the problem. Once they have a felony on their record dealing drugs may be the only job they will ever have as most companies do not hire felons.

My son was a drug addict & he was robbed & murdered in 2006 because he had to buy drugs to get his fixes from illegal dealers in Dayton, Ohio rather than a safe source managed by people who do not hold loaded guns in your face when you visit them to make a purchase. Ask any drug addict in Dayton, Ohio how they feel when they visit their dealer? Ask them about how dealers point guns at them during drug purchases.

The State Of Ohio has locked up a lot of illegal drug dealers over the years so why is the drug problem escalating?

Insanity: Doing the same things over & over again & expecting different results!

The State Of Ohio needs to make the sale of drugs & narcotics to drug addicts legal so the addicts can buy from safe duly licensed sources & tax money can be collected ( illegal drug dealers do not pay taxes & can not even deposit money in banks unless they want to get busted ). Illegal drug sales in The Dayton, Ohio area are so large in value many feel the economy will collapse if the dealers are put out of business.

The politicians need to stop catering to the Religious People for fear of losing their votes as this has to be done whether they like it or not or nothing will ever change. Religion has no place in politics in the first place & needs to be kept separate from State. Religious people claim God can heal all addicts if they ask him to.
God does not do dishes for anyone & he will also not do an addicts recovery work if they want to get clean & sober & stay that way. If all an addict had to do to get out of addiction is to convert to a religion or a religious belief why would we even be discussing or concerned with a drug problem in The State Of Ohio.
When it comes to the legalization of drug sales to addicts the Religious Community is all wet & that is exactly why " Nothing changes if nothing changes ". Alcohol is a drug & so is nicotine & nothing our Government has done has been able to stop people from indulging simply because the people buying & using these things are addicts. The problem is not drugs. The problem is addiction & it is not going to go away as long as dysfunctional families exist in The State Of Ohio. At least legalization should be given a try & a chance as nothing else has ever worked as it is estimated by professionals that there are at least 38,000 drug addicts in Montgomery County Ohio alone & very few of them are in organized Recovery Programs.
What does that tell you!
The War On Drugs is a waste of time & effort. It should become The War On Addiction!

The Family Members Of Drug Addicts, Alcoholics & Other Types Of Addicts Also Need Help ( Recovery )

When people come face to face with addiction in family members, friends, loved ones or co-workers their first impulse is to try & help, fix or rescue those afflicted.

Unfortunately that can not be done.

No matter how hard they try they simply can not save their loved ones.

Why? Addiction is the only disease that tells you that you do not have it.

In reality  addicts do not have to answer to their family members, friends, loved ones or co-workers.

They do not have to answer to the God of their understanding either.

Ultimately, they have to answer to their addiction & that alone.

When One Member Of A Family Is Sick They Are All Sick ( John Bradshaw On The Family )

John Bradshaw is one of the top addiction recovery counselors or therapist in The USA.

Many of us who have been in recovery for many years are very familiar with his teachings, books, TV Shows & Inner Child Workshops.

Mr. Bradshaw has helped thousands & thousands of Americans to change the way they think & change their lives for the better.

In families or relationships where addiction is present in other family members everyone in that family is adversely affected.

That is why counselors & therapist often recommend that all the members of families where addiction is present enter into recovery programs.

The First Step: We admitted we were powerless & our lives had become unmanageable ( The Twelve Steps Of AA )

The first Step Of The Twelve Steps of AA is an admission that no matter how hard we had tried or how many different times we had resolved to ourselves or others to finally stop or quit using drugs or narcotics, drinking alcohol, acting out in other addictive behaviors or codependency sooner or later we would find ourselves going back to our old undesirable behaviors & then we would suffer painful consequences once again.

In other words in the First Step we finally surrender & admit that we could not control our dysfunctional behaviors or bad habits without the help of other people who had experienced the same types of personal problems & overcame them through working 12 Step Recovery Programs.

People afflicted with addiction or alcoholism often times do not think they are addicts even when they have left a trail of destruction behind them & their lives are totally out of control.

They actually think they use drugs or drink alcohol simply because they want to & enjoy using or drinking.

They like the effect drugs or alcohol have on them which medicates their pain or augments their pleasure.

They resist the idea that they could be real drug addicts or alcoholics & actually think they could stop or quit using drugs or drinking alcohol anytime they please ( this is called Denial or Delusion ).

Denial & Delusion is what keeps alcoholics & drug addicts & other types of addicts stuck in their addictions.

It is also what keeps their family members, friends, loved ones & co-workers stuck in codependent behavior which is no cake-walk in it's self.

Unfortunately addiction is more powerful than any human being which means no one on earth has the power to overcome another person's denial & delusion concerning their problems with alcoholism, substance abuse or codependency.

Only those afflicted can do that & only if they want to.

A certain amount of emotional pain & suffering is usually necessary for them to begin to see the light & accept the truth about themselves concerning their personal problems with alcoholism, substance abuse, other types of addiction or codependency.
